Edible Cookie Dough

Whenever I make cookies, before I even unplug the electric mixer, my family—spoons ready—lines up for cookie dough. Aware that eating raw cookie dough isn’t the safest route to take, I decided it was time to develop an edible cookie dough recipe!

My cookie dough fiends (aka my siblings and cousins) approved it, and, of course, still had their spoons ready to take a sweet bite. I also used the cookie dough for homemade ice cream (which you can also use with store-bought)! All I did was put the dough in the refrigerator for an hour to harden, then I cut it up into small nuggets, and added it to ice cream. This recipe is multifaceted, so fast, easy (!!), and, most of all, yum.

Check out the recipe below. And check out the video tutorial on my Instagram @AntoneAppetit.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 Tbsp white sugar
  • 6 Tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 Tbsp almond milk (or any milk of your choice)
  • 1/3 cup chocolate chips

Directions:

  • Heat the oven to 350 degrees F
  • Pour the flour into a round metal pan and bake for 5-7 minutes. This makes the edible cookie dough safe to eat
  • Combine flour, brown sugar, white sugar, salt and mix
  • Pour in melted or softened butter, vanilla, and almond milk
  • Mix in an electric mixer
  • Add the dry ingredient mixture, and mix on high
  • Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula
  • Scoop into individual bowls with an ice cream scooper or serve however you like!
  • Keep leftovers in the refrigerator
