Berry Smoothie Bowl

There’s a juice bar near me in Aventura, Florida, called Raw Republic. My favorite açaí bowl there is the Coconut Grove—it’s so rich in a well-balanced flavor of peanut butter, berries, and açaí, all topped in a thick layer of honey. It inspired me to whip up this antioxidant-rich berry bowl! The sunflower seeds and nuts strike a perfect balance with the berries. Plus, the honey makes each spoonful feel like you’re eating dessert! Easy, healthy, delicious. It’s the perfect breakfast or afternoon treat. Check out the recipe below.

Ingredients:

Smoothie Bowl

  • 2/3 cup almond milk (or oat, whole, whatever you prefer)
  • 1/2 banana
  • 1/2 cup mixed berries (more or less depending on your taste preference)
  • 2/3 cup vanilla yogurt
  • 8 ice cubes (or more depending on your favored thickness)
  • 1 tsp flaxseed powder

Toppings

  • 2 tsp sunflower seeds
  • 1 tsp pumpkin seeds
  • Handful almonds
  • Handful walnuts
  • Handful of berries to garnish
  • Drizzle honey

Directions:

The directions are very straightforward.

  1. Blend everything together but the ice
  2. Once blended and smooth, add the ice until pureed
  3. Pour into a soup dish and top as creatively as you’d like!
